بعد النجاح الكبير الذي حققته لعبة بوكيمون جو، حصلت الشركة المطورة لها Niantic على تمويل جديد بقيمة 200 مليون دولار ستستخدمه في تطوير لعبة هاري بوتر القادمة والتي تعتمد على الواقع المعزز.
وهذه ثاني جولة للتمويل تقودها شركات استثمار مخاطر مثل Spark Capital التي ستحصل على مقعد في مجلس الإدارة و Javelin Venture Capital وغيرها.
وأعلنت الشركة مؤخراً عن البدء بتطوير لعبة واقع معزز جديدة تستند على قصة وشخصية هاري بوتر تدعى Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. وتقوم اللعبة على نفس تقنية بوكيمون جو حيث يمكن استكشاف العالم والقتال مع الوحوش والإنضمام لحلفاء للقضاء على الأعداء الأقوياء.
وكانت قد حققت لعبة بوكيمون جو خلال سنة من إطلاقها عائدات إجمالية للشركة بنحو 1.2 مليار دولار، ويتوقع أن يتواصل النجاح وتستفيد من شعبية شخصية هاري بوتر لكسب المزيد من الأرباح.
