لا ترضخ بالعادة تيليغرام لطلبات من هذا القبيل، لكن لأول مرة أغلقت قناة محادثة بسبب نشر ألبوم غنائي للمغنية تايلور سويفت بعد طلب تلقته من شركتي قوقل وآبل.
يبدو أن الطلب الأمريكي جاء بالأصل من شركة الإنتاج الفني Universal Music التي ترى في نشر الألبوم مجاناً عبر القناة انتهاكاً لحقوق الملكية الفكرية.
وينتشر استخدام قنوات تيليغرام لنشر المحتوى محمي حقوق الملكية بطريقة آمنة على غرار التورنت حيث يمكن لأي شخص منضم للقناة تحميل الملفات من كتب إلكترونية ومقاطع فيديو وأغاني بكل سهولة.
وبالتفاصيل فقد حجبت تيليغرام قناة Any Suitable Pop” بسبب نشر الألبوم الغنائي Reputation، ويبدو أن كل من قوقل و آبل قد هددتا بإزالة تطبيق تيليغرام من متاجر التطبيقات ما لم تلتزم بطلب حجب القناة.
هذا التصرف من قوقل وآبل قد يفتح الباب واسعاً نحو المزيد من التصرفات المشابهة وإغلاق المزيد من القنوات مستقبلاً ما قد يؤثر على السمعة التي يحاول التطبيق بناؤها.
Tilligram does not usually bow to such requests, but for the first time a chat channel was closed because of a song by singer Taylor Swift after a request from Google and Apple.
The US demand appears to have come from Universal Music, which views the release of the album for free through the channel as a violation of intellectual property rights.
The use of Telegram channels is widely used to distribute content protected in a secure way, like Torrent, where anyone who joins the channel can download files from ebooks, videos and songs with ease.
In particular, Telegram has blocked Any Suitable Pop because of the release of the album "Reputation". Both Google and Apple seem to have threatened to remove the Teligram application from application stores unless they comply with the channel blocking request.
This action by Google and Apple may open the door wide to more similar actions and close more channels in the future, which may affect the reputation that the application is trying to build.
